The quiet life of the country has never appealed to me. City born and city bred, I have always regarded the country as something you look at through a train window, or something you occasionally visit during the weekend. Most of my friends live in the city, yet they always go into a frenzy of joy at the mere mention of the country. Though they glorify the virtues of the peaceful life, only one of them has ever gone to live in the country and he was back in town within six months. Even he still lives under the illusion that country life is somehow superior to town life. He is forever talking about the friendly people, the clean atmosphere, the closeness to nature and the gentle pace of living.

宁静的乡村生活对我从来都没有吸引力。对生长在城市的我来说，乡村就是火车窗外的一道风景，或是周末偶尔去放松的地方。我大多数朋友都生活在城市。但一提到乡村，他们就激动不已。他们总是美化那里平静的生活，其实他们之中只有一人曾在那里生活过，还只呆了不到半年。尽管如此，他还总是幻想着乡村生活比起城里来是如何美好。他总说那里的人们如何友善，空气如何清新，生活如何悠闲，如何接近自然。

The success of German economy, to some degree, poses a confusing question in its education. On one hand, the labor trained in German school is capable of producing the products that make the country the world export leader. On the other hand, the academic level of its students is only middling according to the international tests. An assessment report from OECD shows that German's 15-year-old students have lower reading ability than rich country's average. So how could German's commerce flourish in a society where intellectual resources become more and more important？The answer lies on the integration of school education and apprentice training. This combination has proved its ability to train worker constantly for high-end products, despite the fact that similar jobs have already disappeared in other rich countries
